Position Summary: The Principal Solutions Architect, Guidewire is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, governing, and evolving InvoiceCloud’s enterprise integration architecture across Guidewire and other insurance core platforms. This role owns the technical strategy for complex, large-scale EBPP integrations—ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with long-term business objectives. This role sits within the Solutions Engineering function and partners closely with executive leadership, Product, Engineering, and external system integrators to set architectural direction, establish standards, and deliver durable integration frameworks. The Principal Solutions Architect, Guidewire, serves as a trusted advisor to insurers and partners, translating business goals into future-ready technical architecture. Deep Guidewire expertise is critical. Experience with Duck Creek, Insurity, Majesco, or other insurance platforms is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 12–15+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale SaaS solutions within insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries
  • 10+ years in solutions architecture, enterprise integration, or technical consulting roles with demonstrated architectural ownership
  • Deep Guidewire expertise (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter), including accelerators, data models, extension patterns, and integration frameworks
  • Proven experience designing, governing, and evolving enterprise-wide integration architectures
  • Strong experience with REST and SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman and Kong
  • Extensive experience architecting public cloud-based solutions (Azure preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of integration, database, and web service protocols and technologies (JSON, XML, SQL, SFTP, SOAP, REST) and event-driven-based (webhook) integrations
  • Development background in Java, .NET (VB.NET a plus), or Python, with the ability to review code and guide implementation teams
  • Advanced expertise in security and identity frameworks (SSO, OAuth, SAML, JWT)
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders
  • Limited travel (up to 20–25%) for customer visits, partner collaboration, and company off-sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of enterprise-grade integration architectures for Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) that support secure, scalable digital payment and EBPP experiences.
  • Define and maintain reference architectures, integration patterns, and architectural standards that balance flexibility, performance, security, and time-to-value. Ensure solution designs are adaptable to evolving technologies, regulatory requirements, and customer growth.
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders, insurers, partners, and system integrators to understand strategic objectives and define long-term integration roadmaps. Serve as a key architectural voice influencing platform, product, and integration roadmap decisions. Guide customers through modernization initiatives related to billing, payments, identity, and customer experience.
  • Establish and enforce architectural governance frameworks, design guardrails, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across implementations Act as the final technical authority for complex or high-risk integrations, resolving architectural tradeoffs and escalations. Ensure all integrations meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Product, Integration Engineering, and Implementation teams to size, scope, and plan enterprise-scale integration efforts. Provide architectural oversight across multiple concurrent customer implementations. Support accurate estimation, early risk identification, and delivery planning.
  • Continuously evaluate and evolve existing integration frameworks to improve scalability, performance, resiliency, and delivery efficiency. Champion modern, cloud-native integration patterns, API-first design, automation, and AI-assisted tooling. Identify opportunities to standardize and reuse integrations across Guidewire and non-Guidewire platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Guidewire integrations and enterprise EBPP architectures. Mentor Senior Solutions Engineers and Integration Engineers through design reviews, best practices, and coaching. Elevate the overall technical maturity and architectural rigor of the Solutions Architecture organization.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to insurers, partners, and Guidewire system integrators. Clearly articulate complex technical solutions to executive, technical, and business stakeholders. Build strong, long-term relationships that support customer success, platform adoption, and scalable growth.
