It's exciting time to join our Walmart journey. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a key position on Walmarts OMNI Returns. Returns is the platform that powers Walmarts Stores and .com channels for all own and marketplace item assortments. Returns business ensure customers are feeling comfortable while shopping from any channel with seamless returns experience anywhere with in the Walmart and it's affiliated carrier network. In this role, you will develop highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software engineering problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. Championing EE/OE/SRE best-practices, you will accelerate several key initiatives delivering critical path code while guiding teams to scale better practices. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. What you'll do: Develop software for our OMNI Returns Backend Systems Design and implement pipelines to process real time delivery data against our Walmart Global Tech Guidelines. Lead your team in performing design, code reviews, operational excellence - building for resilience, high availability, scalable and performance. Create/Code/Design large, complex workforce management applications, services, and systems that are used across Walmart Returns. Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product, data science, and other software engineering teams to understand the business problem and draft, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems that efficiently meet those needs. Troubleshooting business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation. Leading the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, design, project management, business and user experience teams; obtaining cross-function approvals; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas. Developing Innovation strategies, processes, and best practices by leading internal technical teams; partnering with cross-functional teams across the business; developing assessments of key opportunities; documenting project scopes; developing long-range plans and project timelines; communicating with and influencing decision-makers and executives within the organization; and resolving technology differences across teams through informed discussions. Collaborate with cross team and cross functional stakeholders.
