Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in server administration, with hands-on expertise in both on-premises and cloud environments for large-scale enterprises
  • Proven track record provisioning, operating, and maintaining hybrid server infrastructure in regulated or government settings
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)
  • Strong knowledge of federal IT policies (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and ITIL practices for service operations
  • Proficiency in server OS (e.g., Windows Server, Linux/RHEL) and tools for monitoring/automation (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Nagios)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to manage complex, high-availability systems under pressure
  • Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
  • Applies and/or develops highly advanced concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Viewed as expert in the field
  • Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with long-range goals and objectives
  • The successful candidate must be located within 50 miles of Washington, DC.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), MCSA/MCSE (Microsoft), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
  • Experience supporting DoD or large federal customers, including hybrid cloud migrations and compliance audits
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher certification, with focus on infrastructure management
  • Background in scripting for automation and integration with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, CISSP for secure administration)
  • MCSA, VCP, or VCAP certification
