We’re looking for an SEO & GEO technical expert who shares these values and wants to make Bizee the most discoverable, most-cited, and most-trusted business formation brand in both traditional search and the AI-powered search era. What Makes Working Here Different AI Search Is the Battleground: Google’s AI Mode already recommends our competitors by name. Bizee is absent. You’ll fix that and build the system to ensure it never happens again. CMS Migration at Scale: We’re migrating from Payload to Statamic. You’ll shape the content architecture, template strategy, and structured data layer from the ground up. Greenfield. High Agency, High Impact: You own technical SEO, GEO, and CMS architecture. You identify the levers. You write the specs. Engineering implements. Marketing partners on strategy. 1M+ Customers as a Data Moat: We have the largest customer base in the category but the weakest AI visibility. The data advantage is there, and we want to unlock it. The Role As the Principal, SEO & GEO, you are the senior technical expert who ensures Bizee is findable, citable, and recommended across every surface where entrepreneurs search for help starting a business. That includes Google organic, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. This is not a "content marketing" role. You are a technically deep practitioner who understands how search engines crawl, index, and rank. How AI systems retrieve, evaluate, and cite. How CMS architecture decisions cascade into organic visibility outcomes. You write technical specifications that engineering teams implement. You partner with the Head of Marketing to shape SEO and GEO strategy. You make the entire search function smarter.

Requirements

Technical SEO Mastery: You’ve done enterprise-scale technical SEO. Schema markup, crawl optimization, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, redirect strategies, migration planning. You’ve done it hands-on, not just advised on it.
GEO Fluency: You understand how LLMs retrieve, summarize, and rank information. You can explain why Google AI Mode doesn’t simply mirror the top 10 organic results. You know what entity clarity, citation trust, and content extractability mean at a mechanistic level.
CMS Architecture Experience: You’ve shaped content architecture in a modern headless or flat-file CMS (Statamic strongly preferred; Craft, Contentful, or similar accepted). You understand how CMS decisions cascade into SEO outcomes.
Technical Specification Chops: You write specs that engineers can implement without follow-up questions. JSON-LD schemas, template requirements, redirect maps, URL conventions. Precise, clear, actionable.
Cross-Functional Influence: No direct reports. Your impact comes through the quality of your thinking and your ability to earn trust with Engineering peers, Marketing partners, and executive stakeholders.
Measurement Instincts: You’ve built KPI frameworks for emerging channels where benchmarks didn’t exist. You’re comfortable defining "good" when nobody else has figured it out yet.

Nice To Haves

You’ve led an SEO-critical CMS migration (especially to Statamic or a similar flat-file/Laravel-based CMS) and can show before/after organic impact data.
You’ve navigated a brand rebrand/rename and successfully reconsolidated search equity and entity signals.
You have hands-on experience with AI visibility tracking tools (Semrush AI Visibility Analytics, Ahrefs, or equivalent) and can show how you used them to shift outcomes.
You’ve built structured data systems that are self-sustaining: content authors create properly schema-marked content without needing to understand schema.org.
You can demonstrate a measurable instance where your GEO work resulted in a brand being cited in AI-generated answers.
You’ve worked in competitive B2C marketplaces where "best of" comparison content and affiliate/review sites dominate the SERP landscape.

Responsibilities

Technical SEO & Generative Engine Optimization Schema Markup at Scale: Design and spec comprehensive JSON-LD schema (Organization, Service, Product, FAQ, Review, HowTo) across bizee.com. Author the technical specifications that Engineering implements.
Brand Entity Consolidation: Resolve the Incfile-to-Bizee signal fragmentation. Audit and update every directory, review site, knowledge graph entry, and third-party reference. Build a unified brand entity that AI systems can confidently identify and cite.
AI Visibility Framework: Build the measurement system for tracking Bizee’s citation rate, share of voice, and recommendation frequency across Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini. Define KPIs where no industry benchmarks exist yet.
Vertical Content Architecture: Partner with Marketing to create data-rich landing pages for high-value niches: LLC for AI startups, e-commerce, freelancers, content creators, real estate investors. Each page gives AI systems a specific, extractable reason to recommend Bizee.
Competitive Intelligence: Systematically track how ZenBusiness, LegalZoom, Stripe Atlas, and Northwest show up in AI answers. Identify gaps. Exploit them.
CMS Architecture & Statamic Content Architecture Design: Define the information architecture within Statamic: collections, taxonomies, navigation structures, and content models optimized for both user experience and search engine crawlability.
SEO-Optimized Templating: Spec Statamic Antlers templates with proper heading hierarchy, semantic HTML, internal linking structures, canonical tags, hreflang (if applicable), and meta tag management. Ensure every template renders content that search engines and AI systems can parse cleanly.
Structured Data Integration: Build the pattern for embedding JSON-LD schema directly into Statamic templates. Create reusable field sets and blueprints so content authors automatically generate properly structured data without manual intervention.
URL Architecture & Routing: Design the URL structure, slug conventions, and routing rules within Statamic to maximize crawl efficiency, preserve link equity from the Payload migration, and eliminate duplicate content issues.
Site Performance & Core Web Vitals: Partner with Engineering to ensure Statamic’s flat-file/Eloquent architecture delivers fast page loads. Spec caching strategies, image optimization pipelines, and lazy-loading patterns that meet Core Web Vitals thresholds.
Migration Integrity: Own the SEO dimension of the Payload-to-Statamic migration. Build and maintain the redirect map. Validate that every indexed URL either persists or redirects correctly. Monitor organic traffic and ranking impacts post-migration and respond quickly to any drops.
Content Workflow & Governance: Define publishing workflows within Statamic that enforce SEO standards: required fields for meta titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and structured data. Make it easy for content authors to do the right thing by default.
Multi-Environment Strategy: Spec the content sync and deployment pipeline across Statamic environments (local, staging, production) to ensure SEO-critical changes are tested before going live.
