Role reports to: Associate Director, R&D SH, Premium Derm Location: North America, United States, New Jersey, Summit Work Location: Hybrid What you will do This position will lead regional and global projects for new Facial Treatment, Body Moisture and Sun Care products, and will be directly responsible for new product formulation development incorporating consumer insights from appropriate channels. The Principal Scientist will have End to End responsibility for product development and franchise strategy for New Product Launches and LCM projects. This position is in Skillman, NJ and in Summit NJ starting in Q2 2026 with up to 10% domestic or international travel required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Pharmacy is preferred)
  • 9+ years of related experience (academic or industry), or a Master’s or PhD Degree with a minimum of three years of related experience (academic or industry)
  • Experience with formulation is required
  • Cosmetics, OTC or pharmaceutical experience is required
  • Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational skills in the execution of regional and global projects, including analyzing the new consumer insight to build a strategic innovation pipeline.
  • Design and execution of both global and regional projects linked to global strategy, which includes defining scope, staying within budget/OOP targets and problem resolution methods with demonstrated rigor and deep organizational knowledge.
  • Ensure global projects are developed to meet regional needs following the Global Product Development Operating Model, participate in cross functional projects and potentially leadership teams as the regional leader for North America R&D.
  • Develop a technical expertise in the facial leave-on area, body moisture and sun, operate and lead independent of technical direction and execute projects and Manage routine processes and complexity, risk-taking and decision making are critical components of the role in providing guidance and solutions to technical problems
  • Draft and execute peer reviewed manuscripts, tech reports and patent fillings.

  • People leadership and development of more junior scientists.
