About The Position

As Principal Scientist, Advanced Imaging, you will provide scientific input on projects for clinical trials where medical imaging and possibly associated data are used to evaluate efficacy of investigational drugs and/or similar treatments. In this role, you will serve as a high level contributor on scientific and operational aspects of the project including authoring or contributing study documents, coordinating with relevant supporting staff, and developing and implementing quantitative analysis with independence. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to determine key project requirements/deliverables and serve as the point of contact for any scientific results, deliveries, consultations, or study issues associated with the quantitative analysis. You may be expected to take part in staff training.

Requirements

  • Technical competency in relevant software platforms (PMOD, VivoQuant, MIM, iPACS, etc)
  • Advanced knowledge of analysis procedures and quality control
  • Ability to work independently on more independent analysis activities both internally and for sponsors
  • Ability to perform the assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant scientific terminology and practices
  • Proven understanding of research methodologies and pragmatic application in a regulated environment
  • Proven ability of using Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Technical proficiency in image analysis and associated software platforms
  • High level understanding of data analytics, meaningful trends, quality control of results
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment

  • Experience using tools to communicate progress to Stakeholders.
  • Solid proven experience of working in and knowledge of medical imaging or clinical development in the life sciences industry and regulated environments.
  • Solid professional experience in the same or very similar role.
  • PhD or MS/MA with significant experience in analysis methodology development and application
  • English: Fluent

Responsibilities

  • Document development and review
  • Independently author and/or review of internal and external facing documents and material such as:
  • Standardized/harmonized image acquisition guidelines (e.g., develop imaging parameters for clinical protocols to ensure standardization of imaging techniques in multi-center trials)
  • Independent Review Charter, particularly scientific analysis methodology documents.
  • Results summary.
  • Independent Review Charter.
  • Image QC and processing instructions (QC Form).
  • You may be responsible for aiding in the deployment and maintenance of new scientific workflows to ensure operational excellence and consistency.
  • Image Analysis
  • Analyze image data and associated non-image data
  • Maintain full understanding of analysis processes and software platforms
  • Contribute and/or lead development of new analysis approaches
  • Quality
  • Identify non-compliances and non-conformances associated with analysis.
  • Demonstrate greater mastery of QC with the ability to support more complex cases
  • Review audit findings, determine the risks associated with those findings and ensure that corrective actions are carried out.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of scientific output and images.
  • External meetings
  • Participate in and contribute to project related client meetings.
  • Present, interpret, and publish scientific materials as needed.
  • Attend relevant scientific/professional meetings.
  • Communication and project leadership
  • Effective and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates significant knowledge of wholistic delivery process as it relates to analysis through consultancy and advisory support given.
  • Identify, evaluate and communicate potential risks related to deliverables as well as their mitigation.
  • Actively maintain and disseminate knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms.
  • Contribute to and/or lead internal trainings as needed.
