About The Position

The Principal Radar Systems Engineer performs complex analysis, modeling and simulation tasks as part of a team developing advanced radar solutions. Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

Requirements

  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of related development experience
  • Knowledge of Waveform Design and Signal Processing methods to meet customer detection and geolocation requirements.
  • Experience with Active Electronically Scanned Array technology and design.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD degree preferred
  • Experience with Synthetic Aperture Radar is also desired
  • MBSE experience with Cameo or equivalent is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support requirements flow-down, HW/SW Trade Studies, System Level Design Reviews, Integration Planning & Execution and Flight Testing activities.
  • Develop radar signal processing algorithms using MATLAB for radar mode designs applicable to maritime, overland and air-to-air modes
  • Develop high fidelity Radar performance simulations using MATLAB, taking into account real-world Radar characteristics including RF Chain parameters and quantized/fixed point signal processing.
  • Work with various engineering disciplines to provide simulated test vectors and analyze test results.
  • Develop system to component level performance budgets using theory and simulation.
  • Knowledge of Waveform Design and Signal Processing methods to meet customer detection and geolocation requirements.
  • Analysis of Flight Test Data with ability to debug system performance issues in stressing customer environments including performance assessments
  • Ability to form team consensus on design choices and execution plans
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment working with other high performing engineers to solve very challenging Radar problems
  • Coordinates with other technical resources to formulate and carry out studies in system design to advance the capabilities and cost effectiveness of core radar products
