About The Position

Capital One is looking for a Principal Associate Project Manager to support the boarding and ongoing system testing of participants on the Discover and Diners Club International (DCI) networks. The Project Manager will collaborate with product and functionality owners to define system testing requirements for network participants and then design, validate and publish scripts, including test automation design in response-simulator applications. Testing subjects focus on core network systems (such as authorizations, settlement and disputes) as well as specific functionality and products that support effective participation on our networks. In addition to designing test scripts for all interfaces, the Project Manager will be responsible for creating associate certification documents for the clients, training participant-facing certification test support staff, and trouble-shooting issues that may arise with applications used for testing purposes. The Project Manager will lead specific release projects and initiatives while contributing to others managed by peers, planning and prioritizing work accordingly in collaboration with clients, account executives, certification team leads, technology experts and vendors. This includes preparing and delivering documents, communication and training that drive certification testing program collaboration and success. This position is in Payments Operations and will be located in the US but will support a global certification team with regional offices in APAC (Singapore) and EMEA (UK).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 4 years of software development project management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Payments industry experience
  • Project Management certification (PMP)

Responsibilities

  • Manage certification test design projects across all interfaces, including direct interaction and coordination of efforts with product owners, system engineers, and information technology (IT) subject matter experts (SMEs), third-party vendors and other stakeholders
  • Define certification requirements in client-facing technical specifications
  • Design and validate test scripts in applications that automate test operations for network participants
  • Maintain certification test scripts and associated documents, training and communications
  • Work with client and SMEs to identify and resolve test defects, system failures, and configuration issues
  • Report progress and otherwise communicate effectively with project stakeholders, program managers and senior management
  • Ensure all project work is completed within appropriate SLAs and that validation and control steps are performed, as required
  • Provide peer reviews, feedback and project support to peer project managers
  • Provide feedback on certification processes and procedures and tools to optimize client support and overall process effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of project guides and templates
  • Support compliance monitoring and audit preparation (proper project activity evidence collection, storage and retrieval) efforts
