The position involves collaborating with Product Line Management and R&D Management to generate development schedules that achieve key project milestones, NPI deliverables, business requirements, and customer satisfaction. The role requires managing a cross-functional team to procure material, assemble and test products, complete internal qualification testing, ship qualifiable samples to customers, and launch early-stage ramp in the factory. The individual will escort Transceiver products through the R&D NPI Phase Gate process, ensuring NPI deliverables are met and qualified products are delivered to the global Operations team. The position serves as the primary team interface working with the design team, internal support groups, operations team, and marketing, acting as a catalyst for engagement. Responsibilities include managing the project schedule, communicating status, highlighting gaps to plan to stakeholders and management, and setting, managing, and communicating expectations to the project team and other stakeholders. The role also involves identifying and managing project resource constraints, dependencies, and critical paths to accomplish program goals, resolving issues, and managing material supply to ensure build configuration and schedule support required NPI deliverables. Regular communication with global manufacturing and supply chain team members is essential, along with light travel for development activities such as global team coordination, product transfer, and problem resolution.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with optical transceivers or components desirable.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and risk management skills.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience as an engineer in R&D or Operations.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Oracle, Agile, and MS Project.
