Job Summary & Responsibilities The Material Program Manager will serve as the single-point operations leader for assigned Product Lifecycle (PLC) programs, with end-to-end accountability for material strategy, sourcing execution, and cost control from concept through commercialization. This role is central to our transformation of operations—driving scalability, supply assurance, and cost optimization in alignment with our Product Introduction (PI) roadmap. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams, playing a highly influential role in ensuring sourcing decisions are sound from day one. Your strategic insight, assertive leadership, and ownership mindset will directly impact the cost structure, lead-time, and overall success of our next-generation products. This is not a coordination role—it is an ownership role. You are the operational face of the program. The success of sourcing, cost, and material readiness lies with you.

Requirements

  • Act as the single owner of the material strategy and sourcing execution for assigned PLC programs.
  • Partner with engineering early in design to influence specifications, identify long-lead and critical parts, and drive cost-effective, scalable design decisions.
  • Forecast and communicate materials, engineering, and manufacturing needs to suppliers; lead early engagement to minimize risk and ensure readiness.
  • Lead the Materials Core Team, driving cross-functional accountability through matrix leadership (buyers, planners, production control).
  • Develop, release, and continuously refine project-level materials strategy with minimal supervision.
  • Drive source decisions and BOM cost ownership from initial concept through ramp; collaborate with Commodity Business Managers as needed.
  • Support supplier negotiations, perform make-vs-buy analysis, and guide selection using structured risk assessments and preferred supplier frameworks.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost); lead escalation and resolution of quality and fulfillment issues.
  • Drive commercialization materials readiness, transition planning, and change control for new product launches.
  • Track and report on key KPIs (cost, schedule, risk), including total landed cost and supplier readiness metrics.
