The position involves collaborating with Product Line Management and R&D Management to generate development schedules that meet key project milestones, NPI deliverables, business requirements, and customer satisfaction. The role requires managing a cross-functional team to procure materials, assemble and test products, complete internal qualification testing, and launch early-stage ramp in the factory. The individual will escort Transceiver products through the R&D NPI Phase Gate process, ensuring NPI deliverables are met and qualified products are delivered to the global Operations team. The role serves as the primary team interface, working with design teams, internal support groups, operations teams, and marketing, acting as a catalyst for engagement. Responsibilities also include managing project schedules, communicating status, highlighting gaps to stakeholders, and managing project resource constraints, dependencies, and critical paths to achieve program goals. Regular communication with global manufacturing and supply chain team members is essential, along with light travel for development activities such as global team coordination, product transfer, and problem resolution.

  • Escort Transceiver products through R&D NPI Phase Gate process, meet NPI deliverable, and deliver qualified products to the global Operations team.
  • Serve as the primary team interface working with design team, internal support groups, operations team, and marketing; be a catalyst for engagement.
  • Manage the project schedule, communicate status, highlight gaps to plan to stakeholders and management.
  • Set, manage, and communicate expectations to the project team, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project resource constraints, dependencies, and critical paths to accomplish the program goals; resolve issues.
  • Manage material supply to ensure build configuration and schedule will support required NPI deliverables.
  • Regular communication with global manufacturing and supply chain team members.
  • Light travel for development activities: global team coordination, product transfer, and problem resolution.
  • BS/MS in an engineering or science discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with optical transceivers or components desirable.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes.
  • Experience successfully managing cross-functional teams, interacting with a broad range of functions, skills, cultures, and personalities.
  • Previous experience as an engineer in R&D or Operations a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Experience with Oracle, Agile, and MS Project desirable.
