About The Position

The Principal, Program Management function provides support to Program and Portfolio managers with program tasks or managing follow on production programs and new development programs. As such, this program management role provides direction and Integrated Program Teams for the company. This role is also responsible for accomplishing program objectives by supporting the planning and assisting with the evaluation of program activities. This role will require interactions with all core team members including engineering, quality, supply chain management, operations, program finance, and contracts. The Program Management function is responsible for program budgets, cost reporting, coordination of resources, and customer interface. In summary, this position is also expected to take a lead role in the execution of specific as defined by the GM and VP & GM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • 10-16 years relevant program management experience and requires mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or multiple job areas.

Responsibilities

  • Directs all phases of programs assigned from inception through completion.
  • Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and identifies and implements solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
  • Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization.
