About the Team The Enterprise Technology Services team builds and scales Workday’s foundational technology, maximizing Workmates’ impact and transforming how we work. As Customer Zero, we inspire customers and empower Workmates through our Workday on Workday (WoW) practice. Beyond Workday, we also enable business operations through our critical support for corporate applications. We deliver core infrastructure services, covering network, cloud, platforms, and AI driven solutions that bring business outcomes to life. Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is a core team within Business Technology, which falls within Workday's Product & Technology organization. About the Role The Principal Product Operations Lead is a high-visibility role supporting the entire Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team, building and optimizing the "engine" behind our technology solution organization. You will be responsible for the health of our delivery lifecycle, ensuring our teams operate within a scalable and efficient operating model, standardizing Agile practices across the organization, and leveraging data-driven insights to fuel efficiency. This role is the bridge between strategy and execution, facilitating critical ceremonies like Program Increment (PI) Planning to provide senior leadership with the visibility needed to make informed investment decisions while empowering our product "pods" with the tools and processes they need to move fast.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Operations, Strategic Program Management, or Management Consulting within a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in strategic project directing with Jira workflow without losing momentum.
  • 10+ years of experience in data visualization and dashboarding (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or Jira Dashboards) to track product health.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and lead through "soft power" across cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to architect Jira environments, including advanced dashboarding custom workflows, and integration with BI tools.
  • Extensive experience scaling Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks within large, complex product organizations.
  • Familiarity with Workday’s product suite and ecosystem
  • BS / BA / MS / MA degree or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Design, implement, and evolve a standardized Agile operating model across the technology organization to improve velocity, predictability, and quality of delivery.
  • Product Delivery Governance: Lead end-to-end accountability for the product delivery framework, ensuring seamless handoffs between the Enterprise Technology Services organization and our business partners.
  • Data & Insights (Dashboarding): Build and maintain automated performance dashboards that track delivery KPIs to inform executive decision-making.
  • Tooling Strategy: Act as the internal champion for the Jira/Atlassian suite, ensuring workflows are optimized for transparency, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic Alignment: Work with senior leadership to translate high-level business strategy into actionable product roadmaps; proactively identify gaps, risks, and resource bottlenecks.
  • Communication: Present workstream health, delivery milestones, and operational findings to the executive team, providing clear recommendations for process pivots.
