About The Position

Role summary: Principal Product Manager for Marketplace ItemSpec and GenAI Automation -drives the definition and evolution of global item spec and building intelligent GenAI-based validation, relevance, and inference systems across the marketplace catalog. Leads the development of category-specific attribute relevance models and automated attribute value generation to ensure sellers provide the most critical, high-quality data for each product category. Owns product strategy for catalog accuracy, structured-data enrichment, and conformance scoring—driving higher fill rates, faster time-to-transactability, and improved seller efficiency. Establishes the future of scalable catalog automation to accelerate marketplace About the team: The Marketplace Item Management team develops scalable, reliable solutions that empower sellers to efficiently create and maintain their catalog on the Marketplace platform. The team manages end-to-end item setup and ongoing maintenance through Seller Center and programmatic APIs, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance at scale. Focused on simplifying item management, the team drives Marketplace growth by delivering high-quality catalog data and automated solutions. This role requires expertise in product strategy, roadmaps, stakeholder management, and data-driven decision making to support continuous innovation and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Deep product leadership experience (10+ years) driving complex, large-scale platform products, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end product strategy, execution, and outcomes in marketplace, catalog, or structured-data domains.
  • Strong expertise in item specifications, taxonomy, and catalog standards, including defining global attribute frameworks, category-specific relevance, data normalization, and schema evolution at scale.
  • Proven experience applying AI/ML and GenAI technologies to solve real-world catalog or data quality problems—such as attribute inference, validation, relevance scoring, enrichment, or automation—translating model capabilities into measurable product impact.
  • Ability to design intelligent automation systems that reduce seller effort while increasing catalog accuracy, automated attribute value generation, confidence scoring, exception handling etc.
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years’ experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 11 years’ experience in product management or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 8 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products,

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Marketplace ItemSpec and GenAI-driven catalog automation aligned to marketplace growth and seller efficiency.
  • Use data, experimentation, and analytics to drive discovery, measure catalog health, and inform prioritization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, data science, UX, and business teams to align vision and execute at scale.
  • Lead development and phased rollouts of GenAI-based validation, relevance, and attribute inference capabilities across Seller Center and APIs.
  • Mentor product teams on platform product management, agile execution, and operating in a complex marketplace ecosystem.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
