About The Position

Walmart is building a globally scalable omni-channel retail ecosystem. As digital experiences expand across eCommerce, Marketplace, and Stores, ensuring that items are available, eligible, and compliant for purchase across markets is foundational. The Principal Product Manager – Item Transactability owns the strategy and roadmap for core capabilities that power assortment availability, marketplace eligibility, and compliance across global markets. This is a high-impact individual contributor role requiring strong product vision, analytical rigor, experimentation mindset, and cross-functional influence. This role directly drives measurable outcomes including reducing out-of-stock impressions and enabling assortment expansion globally.

The Supply Chain Product team is part of Walmart’s Global Product & AI organization. We build scalable product platforms that support Walmart, Sam’s Club, and international markets. Our mission is to create a client- and market-agnostic transactability platform that ensures the right items are available and eligible for customers across all digital experiences.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of product management experience.
• Proven experience launching products in large enterprises or high-growth startups.
• Experience leading end-to-end product discussions to align on goals and execution approach.
• Strong strategic thinking and product vision.
• Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to inform decisions.
• Experience designing and interpreting A/B tests.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate autonomously and drive outcomes without direct supervision.
• Comfortable influencing stakeholders across organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 9 years’ experience in product management.
• 11 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the long-term strategy and roadmap for item transactability.
• Identify opportunities to expand assortment and improve item availability across global markets.
• Establish clear success metrics aligned to business outcomes.
• Own end-to-end product lifecycle for assortment availability logic, marketplace eligibility, and compliance capabilities.
• Lead discovery, prioritization, requirement definition, and rollout.
• Drive alignment across engineering, business, marketplace, and operations stakeholders.
• Use data to identify gaps in availability and eligibility.
• Design and execute A/B tests to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
• Drive decisions grounded in analytics and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead enterprise-wide discussions to align on goals, trade-offs, and execution approach.
• Influence stakeholders at all levels through clear written and verbal communication.
• Operate independently, proactively driving initiatives without close guidance.
• Partner closely with engineering to shape scalable solutions.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of system capabilities and constraints to inform prioritization and trade-offs.
