Shift: The regular hours for this position are day shift. Job Description: Employer: FormFactor, Inc. Position: Principal Process Engineer Duties: Provide technical support for Chemical and Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process and Metrology. Support manufacturing with existing equipment and processes. Perform engineering analysis, troubleshooting/resolving issues daily in a MEMS fab environment, and daily tool health monitoring. Serve as the owner of metrology tools in the planarization area. Install, qualify, and sustain Chemical and Mechanical Planarization (CMP) and metrology tools to expand capability and improve inline detection. Own the SPC for the planarization process; monitor, report, and act based on results to improve yield. Develop continuous improvement plans for existing processes and support equipment and process road-maps to meet the company's strategic plan. Collaborate closely with design, integration, reliability, and R&D teams. Facilitate the transition of new designs from development to high-volume manufacturing. Ensure proper documentation of process instructions. Provide technical support in technical training for operation staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 1 year of experience as Process Engineer, Module Development Engineer, Project Associate (Chemical Engineering) or related occupation.
  • Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
  • Sustaining Chemical and Mechanical Planarization (CMP) and Metrology (In-Situ) tools to improve fabrication capacity and inline detection.
  • Performing continuous improvement plans and process development using Statistical Methods and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles for high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
  • Driving product quality improvements, process variability reduction, increasing throughput, identifying trends, and optimizing equipment performance using at least two of the following Statistical Data Analysis tools: SPC, Python, JMP, SQL, and/or Oracle database management.
  • Creating maintenance manuals, work instructions, troubleshooting guidelines for Planarization and Metrology (In-Situ) tools using Microsoft Word, Excel, and leveraging automated document control systems for equipment & process design tracking.
  • Developing process road maps, techno-commercial proposals, and validating equipment designs using Agile methodologies to ensure efficient project management, collaboration, and continuous improvement in projects.
  • Collaborating with R&D, Quality Control, and technology transfer teams to implement new processes and improvements in manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work
