Position Summary: Advanced Manufacturing Technology is responsible for deploying processes, automation, and capital equipment for Donaldson’s manufacturing plants. As a Principal Process Engineer you will innovate, provide leadership and technical guidance in process development for emerging technology. The position is in our Bloomington, MN world headquarters and will interact with colleagues in the US, as well as teams in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days a week at our Bloomington, MN office/facility.

Requirements

  • Masters in Engineering, related field or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years process development experience.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels internally and external to the organization.
  • Possess and applies comprehensive manufacturing knowledge; ability to develop process requirements, document data, and act on conclusions to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop breakthrough technology that will produce quality products, achieve revenue goals, and align with Donaldson's future success.
  • Process responsibility through lifecycle of a portfolio of large-scale projects which range from product inception, and team building through completion to a profitable manufacturing environment.
  • Support deployment of new process technology (process/equipment specification, process condition development, etc.); apply intellectual property as appropriate.
  • Stay current on new & existing technologies, to identity & creative manufacturing breakthrough solutions for Donaldson.
  • Demonstrates leadership to drive a safety-focused culture in the innovative design process.
  • Research, identify, evaluate and utilizes solution-based equipment vendors.
  • Partner with the top innovative providers to deliver reliable engineering solutions.
  • Lead/support vendor trials (planning and execution).
  • Use the Voice of the Customer to lead cross-functional teams to develop, deploy complete project work; collaborate with industry experts, Corporate Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Operations, and other functional business unit groups.
  • Develop the engineering skills of process engineering department through mentoring, training and development.
