Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding The Pricing Strategist will lead analytical workstreams supporting the development and execution of pricing strategies across CHG Healthcare's divisions. This role requires deep expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and statistical modeling, with the ability to independently design and execute complex pricing analyses. Working closely with the BI team and reporting to the Senior Director of Pricing and Healthcare Economics, the successful candidate will own key analytical initiatives including pricing elasticity studies, margin optimization analyses, and performance tracking across clinical staffing (perm, locums, allied), credentialing, telehealth, and tech-enabled clinical provider solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience with programming languages (Python or R) for data analysis and automation
  • Experience with additional BI tools (Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms)
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and industry-specific economics
  • Understanding of pricing optimization methodologies and revenue management principles
  • Familiarity with clinical staffing or healthcare services business models
  • Background in economics, econometrics, or health economics
  • Experience with machine learning applications in pricing or forecasting
  • Experience working with large datasets, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with statistical software packages (SAS, SPSS, Stata, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative field required; Master's degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, pricing analytics, economic analysis, or related analytical roles with increasing responsibility
  • Healthcare, clinical staffing, or services industry experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of independently leading analytical projects from conception to implementation
  • Demonstrated experience building impactful dashboards and reporting solutions used by senior leadership
  • Strong ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Portfolio of analytical work demonstrating strategic thinking and business impact
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, transformation, and analysis
  • Expert-level Tableau skills, including advanced dashboard design, calculated fields, LOD expressions, and performance optimization
  • Strong statistical and econometric analysis capabilities (regression analysis, elasticity modeling, segmentation, forecasting)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel including complex functions, pivot tables, financial modeling, and scenario analysis
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect analytical insights to business strategy
  • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills with ability to tailor communication to different audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple complex projects, and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with comfort in ambiguous environments
  • Strategic thinking with attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Pricing Analytics and Modeling (Strategic Ownership) Lead end-to-end analytical workstreams for major pricing initiatives including rate increase analyses, elasticity studies, and margin optimization projects
  • Independently design and execute complex pricing analyses, translating business questions into analytical approaches with minimal direction
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast the impact of pricing changes on revenue, profitability, and market share
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses including pricing elasticity by specialty/division, client segmentation, predictive modeling, and scenario planning
  • Proactively identify pricing opportunities and risks through systematic data exploration and market analysis
  • Develop and refine methodologies for pricing analytics that can be scaled across divisions
  • Reporting and Visualization Own the development and maintenance of core pricing dashboards and reporting infrastructure in Tableau
  • Design executive-level dashboards that track pricing KPIs, margin performance, and strategic initiative progress
  • Create automated reporting solutions that provide actionable insights to sales teams, divisional leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Build self-service analytics tools that enable stakeholders to explore pricing data and make informed decisions independently
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc analyses on pricing effectiveness, competitive positioning, rate increase pull-through, and deal profitability
  • Pricing Tools Development and Support Lead the analytical design and testing of deal calculators and pricing tools to streamline proposal processes
  • Ensure pricing tools incorporate accurate cost structures, margin targets, elasticity insights, and market intelligence
  • Collaborate with BI team to integrate pricing tools with existing data infrastructure and workflows
  • Validate pricing models and conduct sensitivity analyses to ensure accuracy and business alignment
  • Data Management and Healthcare Staffing Analytics Partner closely with the BI team to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across pricing datasets
  • Develop deep understanding of healthcare staffing economics, including locums market dynamics, specialty-specific pricing patterns, and supply-demand factors
  • Build expertise in unit economics for clinical staffing services, understanding drivers of profitability across different deal structures
  • Document data definitions, business rules, and analytical methodologies to ensure transparency and knowledge transfer
  • Design and maintain data pipelines that support sophisticated pricing analysis and reporting needs
  • Market Intelligence and Competitive Analysis Conduct comprehensive competitive pricing analyses and benchmarking studies across specialties and markets
  • Support health economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness analyses and ROI modeling
  • Synthesize market intelligence into strategic recommendations for pricing adjustments and positioning
  • Track and analyze industry trends affecting healthcare staffing pricing and market dynamics
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Stakeholder Management Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders including divisional VPs, Sales Operations, FP&A, and executive leadership
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Work effectively in ambiguous environments, defining analytical approaches and managing competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Provide analytical support and thought partnership to sales operations, finance, and divisional teams
  • Support implementation of pricing policies and governance frameworks through data-driven insights and impact analysis
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation Stay current with advancements in pricing analytics, healthcare economics research, and data science methodologies
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline pricing analytics processes
