About The Position

At BAE Systems, we're dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that make a meaningful impact. As a Principal POTS Telecom Design Engineer, you'll play a critical role in leading the design and remote operations of Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) telecom systems for the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) in a large government enterprise contract, serving the customer. This is a unique opportunity to provide 24/7/365 remote operations, initial contact support, and first-call resolution for POTS telecom systems, ensuring reliable voice and digital communications for all government IT-related contacts. Aligned with federal standards like NIST, FISMA, and ITIL 4 practices, you'll design resilient POTS architectures, optimize telecom infrastructure, and drive seamless support to maintain mission-critical connectivity in high-volume, always-on operations. As a senior POTS telecom design engineer, you'll be responsible for providing remote initial contact support and first-call resolution activities via telephone and digital communication POTS telecom systems, diagnosing and resolving issues such as line provisioning, call routing, and device connectivity. You'll design POTS telecom architectures, including redundancy, scalability, and integration with IP/digital systems to enhance reliability and support ESD workflows. Your expertise will help drive seamless integration, compliance, and secure telecom operations. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including the development of POTS telecom solutions that support mission-critical initiatives. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to integrate POTS support with broader IT services, contributing to knowledge bases and process improvements aligned with ITIL incident management. If you're passionate about POTS telecom design engineering, and have a strong track record of delivering results, we want to hear from you.
