The Microsoft 365 Storage & Compute Fabric team is responsible for ensuring that the M365 services are always highly available, resilient, durable, performant, compliant and efficient. We are looking for a Principal PM Manager who will lead a team to evolve our core storage & search platform, empowering Copilot, Microsoft Graph, Agent 365 and other critical partners. This role expects someone with strong technical skills, the ability to analyze and derive insights from data, good partner- and customer-engagement skills, and above all a desire to learn. ​​​​​​This role will focus on ensuring our platform delivers the performance, reliability, and features required by a diverse set of customers, while pushing the boundaries of storage technology and efficiency. You will own setting the product vision and strategy for essentially M365 Fleet Infrastructure that encompasses Data Availability, Durability, Reliability, Protection, Resource Efficiencies, Capacity Modeling, Infra Provisioning / Decomm, Platform Degradations and Modernization leveraging Azure. You will own delivering solutions in conjunction with the rest of the sister and partner teams that address our customers’ needs, are scalable, and efficient. A person in this role: Ensures teams integrate AI informed analysis into strategic feature prioritization and investment opportunities, overseeing roadmap alignment processes with organizational objectives. Directs teams in product advocacy efforts, ensuring strategic support and alignment across external partnerships, driving innovation, engagement, and program evaluation. Establishes frameworks to guide successful engagement programs. Guides alignment processes for collaboration in improving technical solutions and customer satisfaction. Advocates strategic alignment of roadmap goals and product evaluations. In addition, this role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Work with core M365 platform engineering teams to deliver a secure, continuously available, durable, performant, and hyper scale storage platform operated in a cost-effective manner to enable best-in-class experiences for the customers of M365 product suite.
  • Enable Microsoft 365 division to build and run services that power AI, Copilot capabilities to leverage our Storage & Search platforms.
  • Modernize and improve resource utilization efficiency of M365 Storage & Compute platform services.
  • Craft a vision and strategy for your area of ownership. Use data and necessary insights to rally the organization around that vision.
  • Take ownership of e2e business scenarios; problem definition, solutions and define technical & customer adoption strategies. Strive to generate clarity and drive alignment across the team and leadership.
  • Define targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and track and report progress on them. Define and implement Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) metrics for platforms and services that you will own.
  • Cross group collaboration, able to drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large & diverse organization and deliver results that depend on other divisions and partners. Leadership and influencing skills. Ability to work independently in highly ambiguous environments, with both technical and business groups. Take a structural approach in solving complex problems. Communicate to senior decision makers in a clear & compelling way.
