About The Position

This role shapes strategic direction for cloud platforms and drives innovation at scale. Responsible for setting long-term cloud strategy, overseeing architecture for globally distributed systems, and guiding the organization through transformative technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • Typically has Bach. +15 yrs; Masters +12 yrs; Demonstrated accomplishment internally and externally
  • Has followership in subject matter area
  • Attends company training and regional training in area of expertise.
  • Presents own work to members of department and external consultants and external professional societies.
  • Requires proficiency using AI tools skillfully with an understanding of how to develop/create intelligent prompts and/or agents.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in advanced topics such as edge computing, AI/ML integration, and zero-trust security models.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale software transformations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term cloud strategy aligned with corporate objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Oversee architecture for mission-critical, globally distributed systems ensuring security and compliance.
  • Influence vendor relationships and negotiate cloud service agreements.
  • Represent the organization in technical advisory boards and industry forums.
  • Drive adoption of innovative technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Establish enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, development methodologies, and governance models across engineering teams.
  • Serve as a principal advisor to executive leadership on cloud software strategy, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Data teams to ensure cohesive system design.
  • Author and maintain high-level technical documentation, architectural blueprints, and engineering playbooks.
  • Mentor senior engineers and engineering managers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
