Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or technical field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in nuclear power plant fundamentals and integrated plant operations.
  • Ability to work independently including managing project tasks through completion.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Displays leadership characteristics.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning strategies for nuclear fuel manufacturing processes (including chemical operations).
  • Ability to define, validate, and execute tests in collaboration with engineering teams and internal customers, including operating modes and functional requirements.
  • Proficiency in defining test organization plans, including planning, cost estimation, and resource allocation.
  • Capability to define testing requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Skilled in working with utility and plant process connections to ensure timely resolution and project continuity during commissioning.
  • Ability to prepare and validate test files with customers and safety authorities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, planning and organizational abilities to manage complex commissioning activities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for interfacing with customers, project teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Problem-solving mindset for addressing technical and operational challenges during commissioning.
  • Ability to create Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) from processes developed during commissioning.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
  • Understanding of nuclear fuel manufacturing processes and associated commissioning requirements.
  • Ability to work in radiological contamination-controlled areas and follow ALARA principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and advice in analyzing and evaluating routine nuclear power plant systems, equipment and programs and procedures.
  • Develop and recommend procedures and methods, and prepare technical reports, operating guidelines and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance to others in the identification and resolution to moderately complex or integrated operational, technical or engineering-related problems.
  • Provide leadership for integrated and complex projects.
  • Plan, prepare, and lead interactions with client/regulator.
  • Perform technical evaluations of events to determine root cause and recommends corrective action.
  • Evaluate, select and apply integrated and/or complex technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Plan and conduct integrated and/or complex operational, technical or engineering-related projects and or multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Salary: $109,000 - $148,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses.
