About The Position

Skylo is hiring a Principal People & Culture Partner to help fulfill Skylo's mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will be a key strategic partner to our Chief Technology Officer and the broader Engineering & Operations teams, which are expected to more than double in the next 18-24 months. You will be instrumental in building and scaling this critical organization, focusing on strategic organizational design, talent management, and manager coaching and growth. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that requires a systemic and detail-oriented approach to support the rapid growth of a deeply technical team.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in an HR or People Partner role, with a strong focus on strategic people leadership and organizational development.
  • Proven experience in a deeply technical and fast-growing environment, with expertise in org design and talent management.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to coach and influence at all levels, from individual contributors to senior executives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills.
  • A results-driven mindset with a bias toward action and implementation.
  • The ability to be the "right-hand" to the CTO while keeping the engineering organization integrated and cohesive with the company's overall objectives

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary people partner for the Chief Technology Officer, providing strategic guidance and support to build a world-class engineering organization.
  • Partner with engineering leadership on organizational design, talent planning, and scaling the team effectively to meet business goals.
  • Coach and mentor leaders at all levels to enhance their leadership and management capabilities, foster a positive culture, and drive team performance.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the engineering organization and the broader People & Talent team, ensuring cohesive and consistent implementation of company-wide people programs related to performance management, compensation, and career development.
  • Support and manage local people operations issues while collaborating with centralized teams in Finland and India on programmatic elements.
  • Maintain a systematic and detail-oriented approach to all people-related initiatives, ensuring accountability and consistent execution across the organization.
  • Travel internationally up to two times per year to support global teams and initiatives
