About The Position

We are looking for a Principal Corporate Paralegal to support work for expansion, entity management, and other functions within our legal department. You may also support our corporate governance program more broadly, including as needed with SEC filings and equity plan administration. You will need to bring a keen legal eye to your work, enjoy finding creative ways to build scale, structure, and process, actively use AI and explore means of driving greater AI adoption for your team, and understand how to operate in a complex and highly regulated space. This role will be based in Seattle, WA and will work on a hybrid schedule, working 3+ days a week out of our headquarters.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of paralegal experience, ideally at a major law firm and/or in-house.
  • Experience building processes that improve accuracy and efficiency, while still remaining flexible.
  • Deep familiarity with AI-native and adjacent tools and means of driving scale for broad enterprises.
  • Experience working alongside senior management and outside counsel.
  • A base level of exposure to SEC filings and requirements.
  • An ability to operate in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments, being comfortable making decisions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Own multiple projects involving global expansion, licensing, regulatory compliance, payments, business development, M&A, treasury, tax, employment/HR, contract management, corporate governance and other verticals.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes that will positively affect the legal department and its counterparts to help us scale.
  • Assist with counterparty due diligence, document preparation and execution, and closing and integration for acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
  • Assist on corporate compliance matters for Remitly's various domestic and international subsidiaries.
  • Assist with maintaining corporate books and records.
  • As needed, help prepare and submit SEC filings, manage equity plan administration matters, and support disclosure control and audit processes.
