Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector has an opening for a Principal Network Communications Engineer (level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Georgia, USA. As the Principal Network Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will maintain smooth operation of Information System Hardware and Software. Your duties include: Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of several integrated and specialized information systems. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of information systems hardware/software, radio frequency and SATCOM communications systems, and interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepare documentation or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions. Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. Ensure secure movement of information across a multi-classification level computing environment. May coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment. Support integration and provide engineering feedback on effectiveness of system upgrades and modifications. May design systems or portions of systems that include selection of hardware and software packages.
