This position will work with our vendor partners to implement and support our new Artemis network. The Artemis network will migrate the following existing Element Management Systems: RadView - EMS used for provisioning and maintenance of RAD NTEs providing ASE (AT&T Switched Ethernet) service to our customers. Ciena ESM – Ethernet Services Manager for IPAG and MOW networks. Ciena Bulkstat Collector - Works in conjunction with TFTP and SFTP to translate Remote Network Monitoring statistics What you’ll do: Research, Development and Collaboration: Drive Research and Development initiatives, integrate emerging technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs. Strategic Technical Leadership/Communication: Provide strategic direction and leadership to develop and implement innovative, scalable, and robust systems aligning with organizational goals. Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous integration/continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development. Project and Team Management: Lead complex projects from inception to implementation and foster a collaborative team environment. Effectively communicate project progress and technical concepts to stakeholders. Analytics: Conduct quantitative, algorithmic and theory-based analysis for addressing business issues in information extraction and synthesis, data mining, data visualization, network design and optimization, market and financial analysis, operations research, and decision support systems. Qualifying Areas of Technical Expertise: Product/Technology Developer/Engineer, Systems/Platform Architect/Engineer, Hardware/Software Product Engineer, Product QA Certification Designer/Engineer, Technical/Cybersecurity Designer/Engineer, and Open Radio Access Network (ORAN). What you’ll need: Required Experience: 8-10 years of related experience. Required Qualifications: IP Networking Cloud and Element Management Systems (EMS) Extensive knowledge of Operating System (OS) patch, OS upgrades, Veritas, and system hardware support Experience in virtual machines (VM) support Experience with Shell scripting/automation. Intermediate knowledge and troubleshooting skills and extensive knowledge of EMS functions. Expert with MS Office to include PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Word. Advanced troubleshooting - (Real-time isolation and recovery, Root Cause Analysis, Trouble Investigation for Network EMS systems. Maintenance (patch) release implementation processes (network elements (all layers), OS, server, EMS, applications). Operating system sysadmin (Unix, Linux, Solaris, MS Windows Server, Windows, etc.). Incident/Outage Management - (decisive command and control skills). High availability fundamentals - (Hardware and software watchdog mechanisms, redundancy management, real time replication, etc.). Logical and physical configuration - (servers, EMS). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Required Education: PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
