What You Will Do: The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Module Center is looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Discipline and Supplier Support . The Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Discipline and Supplier Support will be responsible for developing and implementing plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio. Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets; develop best practices and engineering standard work for vendor assist; develop best practices and engineering standard work for manufacturing engineering Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality. Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation. Drive root cause and corrective action activities for procedural non-compliances within manufacturing engineering; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations Develop relationships with vendors to drive continuous improvement opportunities Support operational excellence using statistical analysis for process control and certification Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations; drive partnership with Product Engineering and Quality Engineering teams through continuous improvement Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures Monitoring the non-conformances and how the part ‘runs’ compared to ‘standard’ times. Look for areas to optimize, automate and trim waste.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or related industrial environment or a Master's degree and 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, quality or related industrial environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Statistical Process Control required
  • DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in a STEM field
  • Experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE, 6S, etc.)
  • Experience working with CAD tools, and create engineering drawings
  • SAP experience
  • Project management experience
