About The Position

In support of the U.S. Navy’s PEO IWS-X initiative, the Principal/Lead Security Engineer serves as the subject matter expert for Anti-Tamper (AT) and system security integration, providing technical leadership and strategic direction for implementing security measures to protect Critical Program Information (CPI). The role develops and implements AT strategies and Program Protection Plans (PPPs), oversees security measures throughout the system lifecycle, and ensures compliance with export control regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, liberal arts, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • A certification such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ required.
  • Must have the applicable 8570 / 8140 requirements including certification for IAT Level III.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to commute to the Dahlgren, VA area on a daily basis.
  • 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with expertise in Anti-Tamper (AT) measures.
  • Experience with threat modeling, attack/countermeasure analyses, and program protection.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a logical approach to security challenges.
  • Expertise in hardware/software security and program protection.
  • Familiarity with defense systems, export control regulations, and FMS compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • Background in systems engineering or software development is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Anti-Tamper (AT) and Program Protection Plans (PPPs) to safeguard CPI.
  • Conduct threat modeling and attack/countermeasure analyses to assess security risks.
  • Lead AT implementation across design, integration, and test phases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure CPI protection aligns with program goals and export control regulations.
  • Lead the development of security classification guides and technical documentation related to AT.
