About The Position

The Red Hat Ecosystems Engineering group is seeking a Principal Integration Engineer to join our rapidly growing team, focusing on the sovereign cloud project. In this role, you will design and build a high-scale, multi-tenant cloud platform that abstracts complex isolation, quota management, and jurisdictional compliance into a seamless experience—powering sovereign OpenShift-as-a-Service, VM-as-a-Service and Model-as-a-Service (AI) offerings. As a part of a geographically distributed team, you will collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams and open source communities around the globe. To be successful in this role, you'll need to have motivation, curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and experience with Linux technologies and open source.

Requirements

  • 8+ year of relevant technical experience
  • Expert level of experience with RHEL or other Linux distributions
  • Expert level of experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with AI frameworks and tooling
  • Technical leadership acumen in a global team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent English language skills

Nice To Haves

  • Background in DevOps or site reliability engineering (SRE)
  • Experience with performance analysis tools
  • Experience with Linux kernel development
  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud security and DevSecOps practices

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role applying Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift to customer use cases
  • Develop and integrate changes in multiple projects using open source methodologies to provide end-to-end solutions
  • Troubleshoot, analyze bug root causes, and provide resolutions
  • Review design, enhancement proposal, and patches from other team members and other collaborators
  • Work with various engineering team to ensure products are developed and tested correctly
  • Publicize the team's work through blogs, web postings, or conference talks
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI frameworks, and leverage those in your day to day work
  • Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for code generation, auto-completion, and intelligent suggestions to accelerate development cycles and enhance code quality
