The Principal Technologist – API & Integration is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing integration solutions between SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Cloud Integration (CI). This role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, configuring adapters, developing integration flows (iFlows), and ensuring seamless data flow. They also troubleshoot issues, maintain documentation, and collaborate with various teams to support integration projects.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP Cloud Integration (CI)
  • Understanding of SAP SuccessFactors modules and data structures
  • Working knowledge of a logging solution like Splunk, Loggly, App Dynamics, CloudWatch and or a native IPaaS log and monitoring system
  • Expertise in SAP APIM, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, MuleSoft or a similar API management tool
  • Possess a sound understanding of technologies such as RESTful and SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS protocol usage, proxies, security concepts and controls of public interfaces
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization

  • 10 years’ overall experience with Information Technology / Information Systems
  • 6-8 years’ functional / technical experience with custom developed applications / products
  • Familiarity with various software design and architectural patterns
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / information technology / information systems / accounting or business or related field of Engineering

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP BTP Administration and SAP S/4HANA is a plus
  • SAP BTP Certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing integration flows (iFlows) using SAP CI to connect SAP to SuccessFactors and other Non-SAP Systems. This includes configuring various adapters (e.g., SFTP, HTTP, SOAP, REST, OData, JDBC) and handling message mappings, Groovy scripts, and XSLT transformations
  • Identifying and resolving integration issues
  • Working closely with various teams, including functional resources, business analysts, and other technical teams, to ensure successful integration delivery
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation for integration solutions
  • Implementing error handling, logging, and monitoring strategies for integration scenarios
  • Keeping up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SAP, CI, and SuccessFactors integration technologies
  • Continuously improving patterns, practices, and operational efficiency within the team
  • Ensures API and Integration security capabilities align with and integrate with our broader hybrid cloud ecosystem
