About The Position

The Strategic Defense Solution (SDS) team is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team as a Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL). The CPTL Hardware Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintenance of the program budget and schedule, as well as intensive coordination across stakeholders to meet the objectives of the program. The Lead Hardware Engineer will be involved in all phases of the product life including design, brainstorming sessions, supplier support, manufacturing support, and other sustaining activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in Agile EVMS/CAM
  • Experience in Systems/Hardware Requirement/artifact breakdown
  • Technical Expertise in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D mechanical drawing tools (Creo Parametric)
  • Experience in Agile (Jira)
  • Experience in Windchill Common Product Data Management (PDM)
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Hardware team interfacing directly with the Chief Engineers, Program Managers and other CPTL’s to prioritize tasks, define scope and ensure technical goals are achieved
  • Responsible for capturing lessons learned
  • Take ownership of technical project execution through Design & Development activities into Production
  • Present project status to multiple levels of Leadership and the customer
  • Work as part of a cohesive team with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Program Management and Operations
  • Maintain and oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
  • Breakdown Work Package and tasking for execution
