The Principal Gifts Strategy Officer will utilize highly specialized and/or advanced institutional knowledge to implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for a select group of prospects and donors. The Principal Gifts Strategy Officer will focus on securing significant financial contributions to support organizational, divisional, or departmental strategic priorities as well as aligning other giving conversations towards a given philanthropic priority or initiative. This role will work closely with Development and Alumni Relations (DAR), as well as University and/or Medicine leadership to ensure long-term financial sustainability and growth. The Principal Gifts Strategy Officer plays a central role in the development of principal-level ($5 million+) proposals and cultivation collateral for the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, including donor-facing presentations, internal and external briefings, and leadership talking points. Reporting to the Director of Principal Gifts Strategy in the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, this role works across Johns Hopkins Medicine to support fundraisers and the departmental and institutional leaders they support in the creation of compelling philanthropic concepts that win the support of our most capable and committed donors and prospects. In addition to the duties described above, the Principal Gifts Strategy Officer will: In collaboration with FJHM Sr. Associate Director of Stewardship, develop stewardship roadmaps for successful principal gift solicitations, supporting execution as appropriate. Collaborate closely with fundraising teams, departmental leadership, and faculty to generate innovative and impactful philanthropic concepts. Maintain and develop best practice resources for proposal development shared across the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine. Train and mentor colleagues across the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine in principal-level proposal development.
