About The Position

We are seeking a Principal Ethics & Compliance Specialist to join our growing Ethics & Compliance team. This role is responsible for leading and conducting prompt, thorough, and impartial internal investigations involving potential violations of the Code of Conduct, company policies, and applicable laws. The position focuses heavily on U.S. employee relations and workplace conduct matters, while also supporting internal investigations more broadly across the organization, including matters with cross-functional and (as needed) international focus. The ideal candidate brings strong investigative judgment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion, fairness, neutrality, and independence. This role reports to the Manager of Ethics & Compliance and partners closely with Legal, Human Capital/HR, Employee Relations, Internal Audit, Information Security, Security, and business leadership. This role will require 2 days a week presence in office at the Golden Pass facility in Sabine Pass, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in Ethics & Compliance, Legal, HR/Employee Relations, Internal Audit, Security, or similar function.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of direct experience conducting internal investigations (with strong emphasis on U.S. workplace investigations).
  • Demonstrated experience leading sensitive, complex, and high-risk matters with sound judgment, discretion, and independence.
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and investigation best practices, including U.S. documentation and confidentiality considerations.
  • Excellent interviewing, analytical, and writing skills with ability to distill facts into clear, defensible findings for senior audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Review allegations made through our Speak‑Up program for assigned region, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employee relations and workplace conduct matters; code‑of‑conduct and policy violations; workplace violence or threats (in coordination with Security); and fraud, theft, conflicts of interest, and other integrity concerns.
  • Conduct and complete investigations, including interviewing complainants, witnesses, and subjects; collecting and analyzing relevant evidence in coordination with key stakeholders; and assessing credibility and conflicting evidence under the applicable company standard.
  • Draft and deliver investigation findings and corrective actions and advise on remediation and risk mitigation; and tracking and verifying completion of corrective measures such as discipline, training, policy updates, and control enhancements.
  • Partner with HR/Employee Relations and Legal to ensure consistent policy application; and promoting a culture of integrity, speak‑up, and non‑retaliation, including monitoring for post‑investigation retaliation concerns.
  • Contribute to program effectiveness and continuous improvement by analyzing investigation trends and root causes to identify emerging risks; recommending enhancements to policies, training, and controls; improving investigation procedures, tools, and training.
  • Supporting broader Ethics & Compliance initiatives, including support for training, counterparty due diligence, and data management.
