Principal Enterprise Applications Engineer
Roblox is looking for a Principal Enterprise Applications Engineer to join the Enterprise Applications team within Corporate Engineering. As a member of the team, you'll be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining company SaaS applications and tools. You will partner with cross-functional teams—such as HR, Finance, Security, and Legal—to assist with any and all application integrations, ensuring that the enterprise SaaS technology architecture and governance are aligned with strategic business initiatives and our mission for self-service and efficiency.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in the IT space, with 3+ years of experience specifically in the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise SaaS applications.
• Deep experience with SSO/SAML/IAM systems, heavily focused on the implementation and administration of Okta.
• A strong background in IT security, with proven experience implementing SaaS system changes and administering access strictly within approved IT security policies, guidelines, and standards.
• Experience in compliance and risk management, including participating in system audits, performing testing for disaster recovery, and maintaining SOX controls to ensure a secure processing environment that protects the integrity and availability of information.
• Experience with API integration work and managing cloud applications and platforms.
• A masterful communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills who effectively translates complex technical ideas for both engineering and non-engineering audiences. You actively negotiate trade-offs with cross-functional partners to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
• A security-first engineer who understands operational and organizational systems and encourages the team to consider the security implications of all their decisions and actions.
• An innovative problem-solver who leverages considerable experience to take calculated risks, finding out-of-the-box solutions to fit Roblox's needs. You overcome all obstacles and challenges with little to no supervision, keeping long-term vision and scalability in mind.
• A proactive learner who continuously looks out for industry trends and advancements relevant to your domain, applying new knowledge to improve processes and solutions within your team.

• Experience with Okta Workflows.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go, etc.) and CLI tools.
• Experience with Terraform for configuration management.
• Advanced experience with Google Workspace.
• Experience with HRIS systems, such as Workday.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage core identity and collaboration platforms, with a strong emphasis on Okta, alongside Google Workspace, Slack, Confluence/Jira, Zoom, Glean, Airtable, and others.
• Own complex, team-level projects from inception to implementation with minimal guidance, acting as an efficient cross-team project leader who anticipates risks and plans accordingly.
• Foresee and guide systemic security impacts, proactively evaluating team plans and engineering scalable solutions that consider future growth while actively bolstering security and reliability.
• Assess business requirements and work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement scalable and reliable solutions.
• Automate manual processes by writing scripts or workflows, prioritizing automation over manual tasks while juggling multiple responsibilities.
• Shape the team's vision and long-term plans, advocating for sustainable, long-term solutions over easy short-term fixes and ensuring execution aligns with organizational goals.
• Create and maintain standards, procedures, and documentation related to your areas of responsibility, and create sandbox/test environments for evaluating new technologies.
