As a Manufacturing Engineering Lead, providing direction, coordination, and technical expertise across manufacturing operations without direct people management. You will lead manufacturing engineering activities by partnering closely with production, factory personnel, and the Factory Automation team to ensure seamless transitions from development into production. Your influence will be felt through the processes, tooling, automation, and work instructions that enable safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. In this position, you will drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives, use data-driven problem solving to resolve complex manufacturing challenges, and ensure manufacturing readiness across the product lifecycle. This role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing engineer who enjoys leading through influence, owning technical outcomes, and driving operational excellence in a collaborative production environment.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day mentorship and coordination for Manufacturing Engineering activities
  • Collaborate closely with the Factory Automation team to ensure production alignment and seamless transitions from development to manufacturing
  • Partner with production and factory personnel to develop, implement, and sustain lean manufacturing processes and tools
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure accuracy of job instruction sheets in accordance with current manufacturing requirements
  • Create, review, and maintain manufacturing routings within Solumina
  • Design, specify, and procure new or replacement tooling to support production and operational needs
  • Lead systematic continuous improvement efforts to reduce manufacturing costs and improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
  • Utilize manufacturing data to identify process issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions, including mistake-proofing solutions
  • Identify, evaluate, and lead process improvement and automation projects across manufacturing operations
  • Drive and ensure achievement of manufacturing readiness levels (MRLs) for all activities supporting product development and production readiness
