About The Position

The Manufacturing Analytics Engineer bridges factory operations, automation systems, and data analytics to drive performance, visibility, and continuous improvement. This role designs and delivers dashboards, reports, and data pipelines while partnering with manufacturing, engineering, and DT teams to mature factory automation and digital manufacturing capabilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable on the shop floor and in data tools—someone who can translate raw manufacturing data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PLC systems
  • Experience with MES platforms (e.g., Solumina)
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA or similar factory automation software
  • Background in manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with test equipment and the ability to understand and interface with production machinery

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Analytics & Reporting Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and automated reports for manufacturing KPIs (OEE, downtime, throughput, quality, scrap, cycle time, etc.)
  • Transform data from factory systems (PLC, SCADA, MES, historians) into reliable, analytics-ready datasets
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reporting solutions
  • Support operations and leadership with timely insights and root-cause analysis
  • Factory Automation & Digital Maturity Partner with controls, manufacturing, and DT teams to mature automation and data infrastructure
  • Enable connectivity between automation systems and enterprise analytics platforms
  • Standardize data models, metrics, and reporting approaches across lines, cells, or sites
  • Support Industry 4.0 / Smart Factory initiatives and roadmap execution
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities using data-driven analysis
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives with quantitative insights
  • Develop scalable analytics solutions that reduce manual reporting and improve decision-making speed
  • Collaboration & Enablement Act as a translator between manufacturing, automation, and data teams
  • Train end users on dashboards, metrics, and self-service analytics tools
  • Document solutions, standards, and best practices
