The Principal Engineer is expected to possess a significant experience in electric transmission or distribution standards engineering and a thorough grasp of both internal/external business and regulatory issues. Be recognized as an expert in own area within the organization and industry. Maintains knowledge of leading-edge techniques or technology through participation in professional associations. Able to communicate orally or in writing to regulatory and/or public entities. Able to lead a team or mentor others. A Professional Engineering license from the State of Connecticut, New York or Maine is preferred. The electric delivery system in Maine contains approximately 2,600 miles of transmission lines & 317 substations. The electric delivery system in New York contains approximately 5,600 miles of transmission lines & 621 substations. The electric delivery system in Connecticut contains approximately 130 miles of transmission lines and 28 bulk electric supply substations. Position reports to the Supervisor – Electric Network Standards and support team needs as dictated by the Supervisor.
