About The Position

Perform complex and detailed administrative tasks for assigned courtrooms and departments under direct supervision.
Pay Grade: 46
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work, with one (1) year as a Deputy Court Clerk; AND
• High school diploma or possess a GED; OR
• Two (2) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters) from an accredited college or university.
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of the various legal instruments issued by the court.
• Ability to maintain an established system of records and files.
• Ability to work with court officials.
• Ability to use a personal computer.
• Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.
• Good communication skills and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform accurate arithmetical computations.
• Must pass a PCI background investigation (local and national background check).

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains a daily docket or calendar of cases to be called in an assigned courtroom.
• Organizes, routes, and files court case folders and posts.
• Secures information for judges, attorneys, and litigants. Informs parties of scheduled court appearances.
• Provides information to various state and county offices as required.
• Processes various legal documents for the courts and the public. Scans and files legal documents received by the court.
• Performs data entry: records case dispositions and court orders.
• Serves as primary contact for coordinating, collecting, and processing court fees.
• Performs other related duties as directed.
