This role is an opportunity to become a strategic force shaping ERM’s growth in Texas and Louisiana as a Principal Consultant, Safety and Risk. Requirements

  • BS in engineering (chemical, mechanical, petroleum) or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in technical risk.
  • Relevant experience would include activity such as HAZOP/LOPA facilitation, Pressure Relief sizing, Incident Investigation, and developing process safety programs.
  • Proven success leading and implementing business growth strategies within Safety & Risk.
  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and maintain long-term, trusted client relationships.
  • Recognized expertise and a strong professional reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience guiding industrial clients through complex technical and regulatory compliance challenges.
  • Prior leadership of multi-person project teams and large technical programs.
  • Experience supporting global service lines or working within a multinational consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and execute a strategic business plan to drive double-digit growth for ERM’s Safety & Risk service line and client base in the Gulf region.
  • Lead business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, securing new engagements, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Serve as a senior seller/doer, winning new technical risk consulting engagements and expanding relationships with key industrial clients.
  • Lead and oversee high-profile, multi-disciplinary projects and large-scale technical risk programs, ensuring excellence in scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Mentor, inspire, and guide top consulting talent to support retention, performance, and long-term capability development.
  • Connect clients to ERM’s global expertise and support the global development of the Safety & Risk service area by collaborating with specialists across regions.
  • Advance ERM’s reputation as a global leader by sharing and applying industry best practices across markets.
  • Build a strong understanding of ERM’s multidisciplinary offerings and actively cross-sell services to existing clients.
