We are looking for an experienced consulting professional with deep expertise in Medication Process clinical workflows—specifically Medication Administration and Specimen Collection (Point of Care). You will operate independently to deliver high-quality work products and perform varied, complex duties requiring independent judgment to implement Oracle Health Point of Care solutions to meet customer needs. You will apply Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices while working across the continuum of nurses, providers, pharmacists, phlebotomists, lab professionals, and clinical informaticists. As a Principal Consultant, you will play a key role in consulting with clients from current state assessments through future state workflow and solution design, build, testing, and go-live support. You will lead and/or contribute to remote and onsite deployment events, deliver professional formal presentations to site-level and national SMEs, and ensure solution design supports barcode medication administration (BCMA), scanning compliance, and nursing specimen collection workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct current state assessments and data collection by partnering with site-level and national subject matter experts via calls, email, and in-person sessions to support Point of Care Medication Administration and Specimen Collection deployments.
  • Document end-to-end workflows, including medication administration workflows and specimen collection workflows, and translate findings into build/configuration requirements.
  • Perform activities associated with solution build, auditing, testing, and issue management; communicate status and proactively escalate risks/concerns to clients and project leadership.
  • Lead or support deployment activities aligned to standardized methodology, including remote and onsite events and formal presentations to clinical and operational stakeholders (nurses, providers, pharmacists, phlebotomists, lab professionals, and informatics).
  • Provide expertise in barcode scanning logic and BCMA troubleshooting; advise on workflow design to improve scanning compliance and reduce workarounds.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of key build components and tools (including DCPTools.exe capabilities such as Response Task Linking, Order Catalog, Nurse Witness configuration, Barcode Format Builder Tool, and Order Task Tool).
  • Support build and workflow requirements related to: Medication Barcode scanning logic (order/task/barcode/product relationship and workflow) Medication documentation workflow and practices (order placement, pharmacy verification, medication administration) Barcode scanning compliance reporting Applicable code sets (Routes/Sites of Administration, Override Reasons)
  • Contribute to/perform work in related areas as needed: Immunization documentation parameters (NDC, lot/expiration, schedule), MAR layout and documentation, additional charting elements, scanner configuration, Discern Rules, and preferences/privileges pertinent to medication administration.
  • Use Remedy for issue management and maintain clear documentation and follow-through through resolution.
  • Maintain billable utilization as set by business leadership; some weeks may exceed 45 hours as needed to meet project demands.
  • Travel 50–80% based on business needs (including periods of sustained travel). Go-live and critical events may require travel outside normal business hours and on weekends.
