About The Position

The company is seeking a W/WW Principal Construction Manager, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, to join its Water Business Line - Construction Management team in the Riverside, CA Area. This role offers an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join a local team supported by a nationally recognized municipal consulting firm. The Construction Inspector, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA/QC, and report documentation on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, power generation, manufacturing facilities, or other heavy construction projects. The Construction Manager will report to a Sr. CM and/or Project Manager, providing regular updates on daily construction activities for their area of oversight.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of civil/utility field construction experience.
Experience with civil construction inspection activities on small to larger sized Heavy Civil construction projects including micro tunning and open cut pipeline installation.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize large volumes of data effectively.
Proven skills in identifying, analyzing, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
High level of mathematical aptitude.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Solid time management skills.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work year-round in various weather conditions.
Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments.
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
General Contractor experience.
OSHA 10 Safety and Confined Space Entry Training.

Responsibilities

Observing and inspecting contractor-performed construction work to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Conducting punch list inspections.
Preparing detailed daily activity and progress reports.
Reviewing project schedules and contractor invoices.
Verifying equipment and material installation for payment purposes.
Maintaining accurate payment quantity documentation.
Performing necessary mathematical calculations and determining deviations from contract requirements.
Clearly and professionally communicating required corrections to contractors.
Leading quality assurance approaches.
Monitoring code compliance.
Supporting Arcadis’ safety standards through daily site inspections and coordination of special and material testing.
Regularly attending and actively participating in construction, safety, and coordination meetings.
Reviewing submittals and construction documentation.
Recommending sound technical solutions.
Monitoring and documenting contractor labor, materials, and equipment utilization.
Supporting time-and-material work.
Assisting with the negotiation of basic field construction changes to support successful project delivery.
