About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a W/WW Principal Construction Manager, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, to join their Water Business Line - Construction Management team in the Riverside, CA Area. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join a local team supported by a nationally recognized municipal consulting firm. The Construction Inspector, with the support of a strong nationally recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA/QC, and report documentation on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment, power generation, manufacturing facilities, or other heavy construction projects. The Construction Manager will report to a Sr. CM and/or Project Manager and provide regular updates on daily construction activities for their area of oversight.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of civil/utility field construction experience.
  • Experience with civil construction inspection activities on small to larger sized Heavy Civil construction projects including micro tunning and open cut pipeline installation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize large volumes of data effectively.
  • Proven skills in identifying, analyzing, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • High level of mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Solid time management skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work year-round in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Ability to work flexible shift hours.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Observing and inspecting contractor-performed construction work to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Conducting punch list inspections.
  • Preparing detailed daily activity and progress reports.
  • Reviewing project schedules and contractor invoices.
  • Verifying equipment and material installation for payment purposes.
  • Maintaining accurate payment quantity documentation.
  • Performing necessary mathematical calculations and determining deviations from contract requirements.
  • Clearly and professionally communicating required corrections to contractors.
  • Leading quality assurance approaches.
  • Monitoring code compliance.
  • Supporting Arcadis’ safety standards through daily site inspections and coordination of special and material testing.
  • Regularly attending and actively participating in construction, safety, and coordination meetings.
  • Reviewing submittals and construction documentation.
  • Recommending sound technical solutions.
  • Monitoring and documenting contractor labor, materials, and equipment utilization.
  • Supporting time-and-material work.
  • Assisting with the negotiation of basic field construction changes to support successful project delivery.
