Principal Business Operations Manager - Strategy & Business Operations San Mateo or San Diego, CA (Hybrid) Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned Principal Program Manager to lead and scale strategic program operations across the organization. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's short-, medium-, and long-term strategy, driving operational excellence, and establishing high-impact operating mechanisms between business and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker, a strategic executor, and a context-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, strategy operations, or business transformation roles.
  • Proven success in leading cross-functional programs that span strategy, operations, and product domains.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills with a track record of designing scalable frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enterprise enablement, strategy or portfolio planning, or transformation programs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of strategic initiatives that shape the company's long-range planning and annual operating rhythm.
  • Partner with Strategy, Finance, and Product leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable programs and measurable outcomes.
  • Own the context and narrative around strategic goals, ensuring clarity and alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Design and implement scalable operating mechanisms that connect business units, departments, and corporate functions.
  • Lead rhythm-of-business processes including yearly planning, quarterly reviews, and executive decision making.
  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks to increase organizational productivity and decision velocity.
  • Establish governance frameworks and decision-making processes that drive accountability and transparency.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure timely execution of strategic programs.
  • Generate ownership and drive context by aligning stakeholders around shared goals and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and communication channels to track strategic progress and business impact.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and decisions to executive leadership with clarity and precision.
  • Lead strategic workshops, milestone reviews, and executive briefings to ensure alignment and momentum.
