About The Position

Processes the Food Service bi-weekly payroll. Provides administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient Food Service Department operations by maintaining a filing system for all financial documents and ensuring the confidentiality and security of all financial files. Assume shared responsibility for the clerical functions in the Food Service Department. Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, retrieves messages and routes calls to the appropriate office staff. Assists in preparing all district, state, and federal reports as needed. Displays ethical and professional behavior in communicating and working with staff. Exercises considerable discretion in the protection and release of confidential information and in the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures. Inventory departmental supplies and material; with the approval of the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations and the Food Service Director. Assists in maintaining a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and efficient office environment. Displays strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents/guardians, visitors and/or the community. Must attend work regularly and is punctual reporting to work and returning from scheduled breaks. Tracks and maintains staff attendance records for Food Service employees. Write grant proposals and process if awarded. Process meal claims with DESE. Maintain knowledge on all current USDA regulations. Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Supervisor of Food Services, Superintendent of Schools, or his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in financial field
  • Minimum of three years accounting experience in public and/or municipal environment preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and organizational skills; bilingual preferred
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Experience with Excel required.
  • Must be able to daily plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment and adhere to mandated deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with InfiniteVisions and SchoolBrains preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and organizational skills; bilingual preferred
