About The Position

Principal Associate, Financial Analysis - Card Partnerships Capital One is seeking a motivated professional for a Principal Associate position in Card Partnerships Finance. As a Principal Associate in Card Partnerships Finance, you will work in an exciting growth business within the credit card segment and serve in a leading role supporting our Bass Pro Cabelas (CLUB) Card Partnership, a strategic Credit Card Partnership in Capital One’s portfolio. The ideal candidate will provide strong financial leadership across the entire P&L, influencing both internal and external growth and efficiency efforts. The role will emphasize problem-solving, relationship building, and influence competencies as you navigate the intersection of credit card economics and client relationship management to effectively: Partner with leadership and business teams to assess the financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the credit card program Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences Effectively manage deliverables under both open-ended and tight timelines Challenge current processes in order to be more proactive, effective and efficient

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in financial analysis
  • At least 3 years’ experience with financial modeling

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative major (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis
  • 4 +years’ experience with financial modeling
  • 3+ years' experience in technology or financial services
  • 3+ years' experience partnering with internal stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • SQL and Python skills

Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management
  • Strategic partnership to provide business partners with financial impacts of different acquisition and portfolio strategies
  • Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences and clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams
  • Address and deliver on ad-hoc requests and special projects, often in an ambiguous environment
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload
  • Demonstrate a passion to learn and continuously develop traditional FP&A and technical skills
