We are seeking a highly motivated accountant to join the Card Controllers Team as an Accounting Principal Associate with a focus on the support of accounting, controls, and internal management reporting, as well as support project initiatives and lines of business at Capital One. You will be a self-starter responsible for supporting balance sheet reconciliations and daily partner settlements while overseeing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. This role will have the opportunity to engage with groups across the organization as part of new technology implementation, issue resolution and process improvement. Lead certain Card Settlement & Reconciliation workflows with oversight of daily and monthly control executions Be a work leader of a team of associates to guide completion of workflows and embrace Capital One values Manage the relationship with our third party staffing vendor, including daily oversight, issue resolution and ensuring the completion of deliverables Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide meaningful subject matter support, evaluate and mitigate risks, and implement process or product changes Support progress on our process efficiency & automation agenda Collaborate with Accounting Shared Systems teams including work related to our Global Finance Systems and Reconciliation system enhancements, upgrades and future state Collaborate and build relationships with back office Lines of businesses teams Provide ad hoc analysis to management Provide support for audit, risk and compliance groups as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance, or a combination

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance, or a combination
  • At least 1 year of experience implementing process improvement projects
