The Principal Analytics Consultant (PAC) for Fairview Physician Associates Network (FPAN) is a strategic partner to network clinical leadership, accountable for translating FPAN’s clinically integrated network strategy into trusted, timely, and actionable information that improves quality, total cost of care, access, patient and health care professional experience. The PAC owns FPAN’s IT infrastructure and information assets end‑to-end—including architecture, data platforms, interoperability, reporting ecosystems, and vendor solutions—to ensure secure, compliant, high‑availability operations that meet the needs of a high‑functioning CIN. This role directs the design and delivery of network performance analytics spanning quality and safety, risk adjustment and attribution, utilization and leakage, population health and care management, payer and contract performance (e.g., HEDIS/Stars), and provider engagement. The PAC establishes and governs metric definitions with operational data stewards, aligns with enterprise Data Governance, rationalizes demand, and advances data literacy across FPAN. Using analytic best practices and statistical rigor, the PAC enables FPAN leaders and clinicians to make informed decisions, drives adoption of information products, and stewards a roadmap that elevates network performance and value‑based outcomes.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. In a Clinical field, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare analytics, information managemet, population health, or related domain.
  • Results-oriented, proven expertise in analytics strategy, measure development, statistical methods, data modeling and performance improvement.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information, regularly exercises discretion and judgment.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze issues and develop recommendations.
  • Experience in healthcare data sources such as claims, EHR/clinical data, ADT/HL7 feeds, payer data, HEDIS/Stars, risk adjustment, and encounter-level utilization datasets.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Strong communication, storytelling, and chang-enablement skills; ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to address problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior executives, physicians and operational leaders translating technical concepts into actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • M.A./M.S. in Data Science, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Public Health, Business or a related field; OR a bachelor's degree with equivalent advanced experience.
  • Experience using Epic's Data Warehouse, Data Model, or Application. Advanced proficiency with analytic and data engineering tools such as SQL, Power BI, cloud data platforms. (Azures, SalesForce) and modern interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, APIs).
  • Experience in provider network performance, total cost of care, leakage analytics, and attribution logic in CINs or ACOs. Background in database architecture, cloud transformation, or enterprise data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal analytics and information leader for FPAN, converting CIN strategy into a prioritized information and technology roadmap.
  • Advise FPAN leadership on opportunities to improve quality, total cost of care, growth, and provider experience through data-driven interventions.
  • Works directly with the enterprise Analytics Engineers, Data Modelers and/or ETL Developers to create meaningful and actionable content for leadership.
  • Partner with enterprise Data Governance and FPAN data stewards to standardize definitions and improve data quality.
  • Apply statistical rigor, experimentation, and predictive methods to target gaps in care, avoidable utilization, and contract underperformance; track interventions to measurable results. Analyzes models' data to provide insight and actionable recommendations.
  • Leads the review process of data sent to external vendors by Fairview. Includes working directly with the external vendors to understand the business rules applicable to the data extracts.
  • Ensures security, privacy and compliance (e.g., HIPAA) identity and access management, business continuity/disaster recovery, and change management.
  • Own FPAN's IT environment and assets (cloud platforms, data pipelines, integration interfaces, reporting tools, and end-user solutions), including lifecycle management, budget, vendor/SLA oversight, and technology standards.
  • Lead development of accurate, well-governed measures and tools: quality and outcome dashboards, provider scorecards, risk and attribution models, TCOC and utilization analytics, leakage/referral patterns, and population health stratification.
  • Creates executive level written narrative summaries that outline project purpose, methodology, summary of findings, trends of interest, and opportunities for consideration.
  • Applies advanced analytics, including AI and machine learning to acquire clean and analyze data while continuously adapting to and adopting new data tools and technologies to enhance insights and performance.=
  • Champion adoption of information assets through training, self-service enablement, and practical workflows; elevate data literacy for leaders, clinicians, and operations. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences; provide transparent status and value realization updates.
