This position within Naval Power’s Ship Support, Integration and Sustainment (SSI&S) finance team is seeking a motivated finance professional to join our large DOD/FMS Aegis Production and DBR Support portfolio as a Principal Financial Analyst (P3). This portfolio is composed of DOD/FMS contracts varying in size with the U.S. Navy. In this role, you will support financial operations, team training, contract negotiations, and collaboration and relationship building with internal and external customers. The ideal candidate for this role will be an excellent communicator with a strong desire to learn while being challenged. Competitive applicants must have the ability to think on their feet, make decisions in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and interact with various levels of management. This position will provide an opportunity to improve skills in financial planning, PRISM, estimates at complete and variance analysis, and internal and external communication and apply them to existing and future pursuits. This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories).

Requirements

  • Typically requires A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Finance, Accounting or a directly related discipline or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience using SAP (APEX, PRISM, and/or BW/AO), RTN PMX or similar financial systems.
  • Experience with EVMS, Program Controls (Cost/Schedule) and/or EAC Process.
  • EVMS Certification or achieve EVMS Certification within 6 months of hiring.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Quarterly Development of Estimate at Completion (EACs).
  • Interfacing with Control Account Managers, Program Management, the Integrated Product Leadership Team, and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Analysis of program performance, utilization of PRISM tools, assisting with initial baseline for new awards.
  • Support review and forecast of Bookings, Sales, Earnings and Cash forecast to Financial Planning.
  • Summary contract level inputs and updates to Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams with an emphasis on financial implications of team decisions and ensure finance team knowledge of program decisions.
  • Develop, utilize, and disseminate process improvement and tool improvement opportunities to enhance analytical opportunities for the entire finance team.
  • Ad-hoc request support in a fast-paced environment (RFI's, UCA proposal support)
  • Provide weekly and monthly cost and performance monitoring and reports inclusive of monthly Earned Value reporting, & development of monthly LREs/quarterly EAC's & required CDRLs/eCraft.
  • Support PMs/IPTLs with ad hoc analysis in support of variance reporting.
  • Complete monthly CDRLs with a quick turnaround time in order to meet IPMDAR reporting requirements.
  • Assist PM with preparation and presentation at weekly, biweekly, monthly and quarterly reviews with NSS and Naval Power Leadership as well as the Navy Customer.
  • Provide financial leadership to multi-functional teams and key partners to ensure successful execution of the Technology Insertion contracts.
  • Frequent interaction with various functions and multiple levels of the organization will be needed, so the successful candidate must possess strong presentation, communication, and professional skills.
  • Management of Engineer Services contracts to include NWA management, Bill Code analysis, IOTs and unbilled cost reports.
