About The Position

At TrueCommerce, your AI expertise transforms complex data and workflows into intelligent solutions that move commerce forward. We are seeking a forward-thinking Principal, AI and Automation engineer to accelerate the development and adoption of AI (Generative and Agentic) solutions across our organization . This high-impact individual contributor role, reporting to the CTO, will shape the future of automation, workflow intelligence, and customer experience optimization across our global platforms. You will prioritize artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions across our business from improving data flow (including owning data standardization and automating and delivering integrations in our workflows. You will own deploying models into production and ensure they deliver measurable value to our customers and to our internal teams working closely with business stakeholders. A critical requirement of this role is ability to write and ship production ready code. This role will oversee 2-3 offshore resources aligned to scale our AI architecture and initiatives Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. At this time, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa As the Principal, AI and Automation, you will be responsible for:

Requirements

• 7+ years in AI engineering, machine learning, or automation. (SaaS, ERP, or supply chain technology environments preferred)
• Hands-on expertise with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) including experience defining, executing, and scaling AI strategies across complex global organizations from the ground up
• Proven experience deploying models via APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI).
• Solid understanding of MLOps, data engineering, and software architecture principles.
• Exposure to AI use cases across multiple domains (e.g., customer onboarding, customer support, operations).
• Strong programming in Python (additional experience with Java, C++, or similar is a plus).
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, and prompt engineering
• Exceptional communication, influence, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• Some travel may be involved - up to 15%

Responsibilities

• AI Architecture & Delivery Architect, develop, and deploy AI models, agents, and automation workflows across
• Deliver on the company’s AI technical roadmap — prioritizing initiatives that enhance workflow efficiency, data intelligence, and customer experience including owning our standardized data model (canonical).
• Evaluate emerging technologies in AI, LLMs, cloud-native architecture, platform design, and applied ML to continuously evolve our automation strategy and toolset.
• Build the technical and operational backbone for applied AI solutions.
• Establish reusable frameworks, APIs, and pipelines to enable scalable and efficient AI delivery.
• Apply AI/ML to core processes such as SDLC (e.g., AI copilots, test automation), EDI transaction optimization, and ERP integration.
• Cross team partnership to ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities into the broader platform ecosystem.
• Business Impact & Value Realization Translate AI investments into measurable outcomes.
• Ensure scalable resilient solutions that exceeds customer expectations.
