Position Summary: Join a team dedicated to every student’s success. As the 2nd Grade Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a warm, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment that supports the intellectual social, and emotional growth of all students. The Lead teacher collaborates with grade-level teammates, Educational Assistants, instructional support staff, and the school’s leadership team to ensure a cohesive and developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary education or related field
  • Experience teaching at the elementary level, particularly in 2nd grade or a similar age group
  • Strong understanding of child development principles with effective instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the educational standards and goals for 2nd grade
  • Create a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in core subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those who may require additional support or challenge.
  • Foster social and emotional learning by promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution skills.
  • Communicate regularly with fellow educators to share resources, best practices, and ideas for classroom improvement
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
